I chose an 8 gram weight because I wanted to see max speed at 9,000rpm as I do most of my riding at full throttle on countryside winding lanes, & have concerns about the slider weights trying to push the belt too far, possibly rubbing on the Piaggio Quasar's gearbox casting which a too heavy slider weight would do.
I've experimented with 14g, 12g, 10g slider weights, also combined with 14g round rollers.
I like the throttle response with the 8g's although if in slow traffic then the engine can sound & feel too highly strung & nervous, working too hard. Riding through a 40kph zone has the engine doing 3-4,000rpm ! lol
